چکیده

The current study aimed using a two-experiment musculoskeletal simulation-based approach, measuring anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) biomechanics, knee joint kinematics, and lower extremity loading to examine the effects of both prophylactic sleeve on (1) sport-specific change direction movement in female footballers (2) single leg landing male footballers. Experiment 1 examined 12 university first team level (age [Formula: see text] years, height text][Formula: text]m, body mass text]kg) undertaking cutting no-sleeve conditions. 2 10 drop jump In each experiment, data was collected biomechanics laboratory three-dimensional (3D) motion capture ground reaction force (GRF) information collected. 3D kinetics, ACL forces/strains were measured simulation, participants also asked subjectively rate terms comfort stability. showed that condition associated with greater strain ([Formula: text]% no-[Formula: text]%) forces BW BW). addition, brace enhanced lateral compressive tibiofemoral BW) total Finally, for subjective ratings, indicated significantly improved perceived did not reveal any statistical differences between conditions nor ratings or Therefore, findings from investigation suggest does appear reduce biomechanical parameters linked aetiology pathologies male/female

Assessing of Kinematic Variables of the Lower Extremity while Walking in Military Personnel Healthy and Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

Background and Aim: Due to the long-term recovery of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and postoperative problems as well as the nonadherence to postoperative rehabilitation programs, the risk of re-injury of this ligament will increase. To ignore kinematic variables in Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstructed (ACLR) individuals can be one of the main causes of injury in these people. The...

Lower extremity malalignments and anterior cruciate ligament injury history.

To identify if lower extremity malalignments were associated with increased propensity of a history of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) ruptures in males and females using a case control design. Twenty subjects (10 males, 10 females) had a history of ACL injury and twenty (10 males, 10 females) had no history of ACL injury. Subjects were assessed for navicular drop, quadriceps angle, pelvic til...

Biomechanics and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

For years, bioengineers and orthopaedic surgeons have applied the principles of mechanics to gain valuable information about the complex function of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The results of these investigations have provided scientific data for surgeons to improve methods of ACL reconstruction and postoperative rehabilitation. This review paper will present specific examples of how ...

Effects of exercise on lower extremity muscle function after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

PURPOSE Persistent quadriceps weakness due to arthrogenic muscle inhibition (AMI) has been reported after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Fatiguing exercise has been shown to alter lower extremity muscle function and gait mechanics, which may be related to injury risk. The effects of exercise on lower extremity function in the presence of AMI are not currently understood. The p...
